Twinless - Could have been this year’s best thriller

 INT. LIVING ROOM – DAY

Albanyac and his neighbour Sam have just finished watching “Twinless.” They sit on the couch, remote tossed aside, drinks in hand.

ALBANYAC

This movie!

SAM

This Moviieee!

ALBANYAC

So good!

SAM

Sooo good!

ALBANYAC

Ok, tf are you doing?

SAM

Nothing, what?

ALBANYAC

Ok. So. Loved it, but, but I think they missed out on something.

SAM

On what?

ALBANYAC

This could have been such a great thriller. I was expecting some crazy shit to go down by the last part of the movie, but… they went for a happy ending instead.

SAM

Happy ending?

ALBANYAC

Yeah. They made up. Became friends and…

SAM

Oh, that happy ending…

ALBANYAC

Bish, can you for a minute! Like, 60 seconds, not think of…

SAM

I could but why?

ALBANYAC

I think I’m gonna go sit on the chair.

SAM

Aren’t you too big for it?

ALBANYAC

It’s ok. I’m used to loosening things up.

SAM

Ohhhhhhhhhh nuh nuh nuh. Bruh!

ALBANYAC

You asked.

SAM

Dylan O’Brian is excellent in this. Was kind of surprised.

ALBANYAC

Yes. Especially since for a long time he’s been typecast, and seeing him in this role was, yeah a bit surprising but I wanna say not only a good choice, but a great opportunity for him ta take his career to another level.

SAM

This is his opportunity to get out of that action-supernatural genre and be seen as the talented actor that he is.

ALBANYAC

Are you saying action movie actors… don’t have talent?

SAM

NO! I’m saying, as history has shown, when it comes to action movies, seems like there’s less acting required than say drama or thriller or…

ALBANYAC

Oh, we’re doing history now ok. Hear that Tom Cruise?

SAM

Does Tom Cruise have an Oscar?

ALBANYAC

Do you?

SAM

You know I’m right.

ALBANYAC

Yes you are.

SAM

I don’t care if you’re being sarcastic I’m gonna take that.

ALBANYAC

I loved this story. It was so original and so smart. Got confused a bit in the beginning, cos I started losing attention then I was like hold tf up.

SAM

Exactly! I thought this was gonna be one of those movies that gonna make me cry, but then that twist and it just grabbed my attention from that point on.

ALBANYAC

And the dialogue was hilarious.

SAM

When Dennis went to Sage for texting advice and she was like – No, never text him again – then he went to Marcie to get the answer he wanted I was screaming!

ALBANYAC

That’s something you would do.

SAM

Definitely! I’ll make up having a twin too.

ALBANYAC

Oh, I know that.

SAM

Or when he asks him about his mother; How’s she’s taking it and he says Cash!

ALBANYAC

And let’s not forget Tasha Smith character talking about her twin and being jealous that she got chlamydia without her. Haaaaaaaa! I love Tasha!

SAM

There were a lot of funny moments in this movie. But, really imagine if you dated someone who has a twin that you don’t know of, and he doesn’t have to die but you know dumps you. Then you’re walking and bump into his twin, and he’s being like he doesn’t know you, well because he doesn’t and… it is like a new beginning.

ALBANYAC

Oh, I’d be like… I’m sorry. We’re not even saying hi anymore? Cos’ by the time I’d realize I’m talking to the other twin, yeah I’d probably fucked up already.

SAM

But imagine falling in love with the other twin as well, cos you know they’re twins and let’s say they probably have the same taste.

ALBANYAC

Do they? You did watch the movie right?

SAM

…and you end up with the other twin. Then show up at some family function and be like hi!

ALBANYAC

You are SO Dennis.

Everything aside, I think that is one of the most painful things to ever happen to a person. Losing someone and finding that there’s another person who looks like him, talks like him, acts like him and… I don’t know how I’d deal with that.

SAM

Are you saying you understand Dennis?

ALBANYAC

I don’t want to, but I can see where all that came from.

SAM

James Sweeney is such a perfect Dennis though.

ALBANYAC

And you would make such a great James Sweeney.

SAM

Oh…. I see what you did there.

ALBANYAC
